When founder, Anthony Orisses, attended an awards dinner, his coworker told him that his wife bought him a $100 pocket square for the event.
The pocket square looked great but he kept taking it out to adjust and refold it. It wasn’t holding and kept coming undone. The next day they got their pictures back and noticed that his expensive name brand pocket square was nowhere to be seen in any of the pictures - it completely sunk and disappeared. If you're going to wear a pocket square, don’t you want it to show?
Then we started noticing this problem everywhere. On the streets of NYC, Instagram, even grooms at their own wedding — fixing your pocket square should be the last thing on your mind.
This is what sparked the idea for creating RARE CUT. Our mission was to combine a classic look with a modern twist for the modern man.
We spent 2 years on our first pocket square and another 2 years fine tuning and perfecting it. We worked with 4 different engineers, reviewed countless prototypes, and consulted with top pattern makers in New York City.
